Mentor Mom Monday "All This And Heaven Too!"

My mom has a great saying that she's been using for years, "All this and heaven too!"

It usually follows something good....a wonderful meal, a favor done, a sunrise, a family gathering. All this and heaven too....we get not only all the good things here but also, as believers in Jesus Christ, the assurance of heaven to look forward to all the time....a sure thing of wonder and beauty.

I thought about her saying while I enjoyed the MOPS service, potato bake, silent auction, the talent of speakers, workers, singing, playing music, joining in conversation together, soooooo many wonderful things happening all at once..... All this and heaven too!   What a day.

It easy to count our blessings when we have a great day....but we have sooooo many to count every day that I wonder if we realize the impact of "All this and heaven too" when we have doubts, fears, troubles, sickness...these things can be overwhelming.

I was thinking about the doubts and fears of change as some of our dear friends graduate from our MOPS program and move out into the world to impact lives in new ways. Leaving doesn't always feel like a blessing....All this and now it's over... but what we have built together and experienced together is woven into our memories and hearts like a beautiful tapestry. 

Sometimes we can only see the knots, the places threads were clipped and then retied in a new place, the underside is filled with blurred shapes and loose ends.....but when we get the luxury of looking on the flip side....well what a picture!  All this and heaven too.....

As you go through the changes we all experience day to day, take a minute to realize that not one is missed in the tapestry of life.  That God is infinitely capable of clipping, sorting, changing color and preparing the loom perfectly for the next moment, season or day.

You women of MOPS are beautiful yarn in the hands of a loving God and when we see the flip side of the next year of MOPS and the next phase of the lives of our graduates....well  I just know I will be saying.....All this and heaven Too!  I'm blessed by your lives.....Many Thanks...I Love Ya,
