Tasty Tuesday-Healthy Kid Snacks

Just like you, I want to be sure that my children eat well balanced meals and healthy snacks. We try to talk about healthy choices and the importance of good food and exercise. I also want them to have a healthy relationship with food and that in moderation nothing is off limits. I have seen first hand how a proper diet can improve the well being of a child. I also want to make eating fun and enjoyable. I love to find new and creative ways to turn a regular snack into a fun experience. Here are few of my favorites that I hope you also will enjoy.

1. We also like using carrot sticks-http://www.creativelyblooming.com/2011/08/fishin-tales.html

2. I like to take two Ritz crackers, spread about a teaspoon of peanut butter on one of the crackers. Sandwich the crackers together and take eight pretzel sticks and stick them between crackers to make spider legs. Two raisins on top of the crackers for eyes and you have a fun quick snack.

3. How about cutting up a variety of fruit and letting your little ones create their own magic wand

5. For a sweet treat-take a strawberry and slice it into thirds. Lay out three Nilla Wafers and top each Nilla Wafer with a little dollop of lite Cool-Whip and top with a strawberry piece. Even I love snacking on these!

What are some of your favorite snacks to give your kiddos?  Please share in the comments section below or share on our Facebook page. I would love to hear what you got cookin' :)
