Can you believe tomorrow is March 1? The hardest part of winter is behind us and little tastes of spring remind us of what is to come. I love those days when the air is just a little crisp and you can throw open the windows and get rid of the remnants of the stale winter air.
The new season usually inspires us to spring clean. The thought of a sparkling clean house gets us excited but sometimes after a project or two our ambition starts to fizzle.
What if I told you there was a way to enjoy the benefit of a spring clean without lifting a finger.
Are you intrigued?.........
I have contacted my sweet friend Allie at Natural Suds Cleaning and Housekeeping http://www.facebook.com/NaturalSudsCleaning?fref=ts (go on over and give her page a like, she is pretty awesome) and she and I want to give one of our lovely MOPS mama's a two hour Spring Cleaning gift certificate. Awesome, huh?
How to enter-

2. You have to leave a comment on this blog post about your least favorite housekeeping chore.

Women in the Word- This is not Heaven
"The song of the whippoorwill. Let her sing. Let her sing in the dark. let her sing at the dawn. Let her song remind you that you were not made for this place and that there is a place just for you. But until then, be realistic. Lower your expectations of earth. This is not heaven, so don't expect it to be."
~Max Lucado~
I just now read that. I had to stop and read it a dozen times. As I sat quietly looking this over, this thought came to my mind-"Will what you sow now be worth reaping in the future?" In Galatians 6:7-10 it says that "for the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life."
When we live for worldly things it creates turmoil and misery in our lives. Well, actually our soul. When we give in to the lusty appetites of our flesh our only gift is endless disappointment. But, when we live under the influence of the Holy Spirit we reap everlasting life.
It is hard to comprehend sometimes. we are fallen and of the flesh brings immediate gratification. Doing something for eternal value sometimes can be uncomfortable and even painful. I needed the reminder that what I do or don't do has eternal effects. Is what I'm planting going to have kingdom value for tomorrow and tomorrow's tomorrow?
Not always, but God reminded tonight to be more mindful of my life and those who pass through it. To plant seeds of truth and life. To look up and remember this is only my temporary home. To find my joy in the Lord and to not make this place heaven because heaven will never let us down.

Tasty Tuesday-Better Than a Hug Cake
Sometimes a girl just needs a hug and sometimes that hug should come in the form of chocolate deliciousness. Bake this and cut yourself a big ol' piece and don't share it with anyone ;)

Mentor Moms' Monday
Meet Moni Kim
Moni Kim, an adorable Cabbage Patch doll is a doll of distinction. My daughter, who will soon be a 20-year-old, was given her as a present when she was about 5 years old. It was perfect timing. Little did Moni Kim know that she soon would be invited to a birthday tea party. Yes, Moni Kim brought my daughter Emily with her to the tea party. It was a grand event. Thirteen, six-year-old girls waiting patiently to join the tea party birthday along with their special dolls. The tea party included fancy dresses for the girls, a complete tea party with special treats, and games for dolls and girls alike. It was a memorable birthday idea and one that is worth passing on to all. As for Moni Kim, she was awarded the coolest hair, and still wears her badge with pride...even though she spends most of her days tucked away in a "keepsake" box.

Tasty Tuesday-Homemade Baby food
I was at a party the other day and I overheard a conversation about some mom's wanting to try to make their own baby food. I made a lot of my kiddos baby food and it was much easier than I thought. Mentor Mom's Monday - Saving a place
There is something really special about having a place saved for you. Do you ever go to meet friends and they are all seated around and you look and see that someone is saving the chair next to them for you?
How does that make you feel? Welcome, expected, valued, loved?
This weekend we went to visit our daughter’s family…. Their 14 month old son Caleb can melt my heart with a smile or a cry….but he did something really incredible this time ….he saved me a place.
While I stayed with them for five weeks, helping after Stacie’s heart surgery, I got into a routine. I always sat on the same spot on the sofa…when I read to Caleb, watched him play and, visited with his mom and dad in the evenings. In the early morning when mama was still sleeping and not yet able to pick up or hold Caleb – Caleb and I snuggled on the sofa under a big quilt while he had his morning bottle.
I haven’t been back in three weeks…and I was delighted that he was so glad to see me, I got a huge hug and smiles, he wouldn’t let me put him down for a long time and when I did put him down, he ran into the living room, climbed up on the sofa and pulled down the quilt and patted it saying, “Amma, nite nite, Amma, nite nite.” Then he ran to the other sofa climbed up and cried “Ammmmmmaa”. When I went to him, he sat far enough over so that I could fit in “my space” on the sofa. He patted the seat and smiled, saying softly, “Amma”.
I got it, he wanted me back in the places I had been, in the places where we shared times of love and laughter of snuggles and care. He had saved me a place in his home and his heart.
There is another who saves a place for us, Jesus. While we go about our days of joy and laughter, of trials and wounds, healing and growing, Jesus is with us, loving us, holding us and letting us go, in all the right times and places. Jesus let us know His plan so beautifully in John 14:1-4, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”
Save a place for someone special today….in your home and in your heart and let them know that Jesus is preparing a place for them too! You'll be glad you did!

Women in the Word-A Letter to my Sister's and Marriage Challenge Week 4
Week 4 Marriage Challenge http://womenlivingwell.org/2013/02/passion-is-not-just-for-the-movies-week-4-be-my-valentine-marriage-challenge/
Sweet ladies-
We all come to MOPS broken sinners. We are all at different levels with our faith, from those growing up in a strong christian home, those still seeking and searching, and all of us in between. Some are married, some are not, and some are divorced. Regardless, we all come together with the commonality of mother's seeking to make a difference, become stronger and better versions of ourselves, and to make meaningful connections. MOPS exists to encourage you where you are and hopefully give you tools to help you along your journey. We try to cover a variety of topics in
the hopes that we never shy away from the biggest things we go through as women. They might not always be relevant to you now but it might in the future and then you have the tools and resources to help guide you or maybe help someone close to you. I encourage you to be involved in all that MOPS has to offer even if it is irrelevant or a little uncomfortable. This is a safe place to discover and bloom. To ask questions and seek answers. We are all on a journey and remember we all have a story to tell. You remember who I am? I am the chick who has broken every-single-commandment. Still, God has led me here and given me the opportunity to share my mess-my testimony piece by piece and he has used it all for good, for His glory and it has set me free. MOPS and the women of it have been instrumental in helping me become the woman I am today. They were there to answer questions, to challenge me, to speak the truth in love, and to encourage me. This ministry is dear to my heart and I pray that you too are blessed by MOPS. This is my MOPS story what is yours?

Sweet ladies-
We all come to MOPS broken sinners. We are all at different levels with our faith, from those growing up in a strong christian home, those still seeking and searching, and all of us in between. Some are married, some are not, and some are divorced. Regardless, we all come together with the commonality of mother's seeking to make a difference, become stronger and better versions of ourselves, and to make meaningful connections. MOPS exists to encourage you where you are and hopefully give you tools to help you along your journey. We try to cover a variety of topics in

Mentor Moms' Monday
Until Next Monday
It's almost 10 o'clock at night and I was going to write on "Moni Kim" and the tea party she attended. However, I am not the only one who uses the digital camera and the pictures I had taken of "Moni" are not to be found. So, I will save that story for another post and after I get time to re-take pictures of her (she is a doll).
I really hope all of you will take to heart many of the topics that the Mentor Moms will be talking about during the "Marriage Panel" on Thursday at MOPS. So many important topics that are so important to your marriages.
Until next Monday.... have a blessed week.
Blessings,
Holly Broden

Mentor Mom Monday -Faithful and Everlasting Love
In a world filled with words of love, love, love.....I love your hairstyle, I love your shoes, I love....
we can sometimes skip over and miss the true meaning and depth of what LOVE is.
Love is a complete commitment - a deep and abiding wanting to be with that person, literally, forever, no matter what!
Saying I love you and meaning it from the depths of your heart, then hearing the responding "I love you too.", can truly be a landmark experience.
It is definitely a landmark moment when you really get that God loves You....forever, faithfully, before you loved Him, regardless of your past, present or future mistakes....a grace that welcomes and forgives....an attitude of joy and desire for your good, of deeply desiring you to talk with Him, to walk with Him.....in fact God loves you so much that He reconciled your life to Himself by sending His One and Only Son, Jesus to pay the price for your sin ( and mine too).
This love is not given lightly or off hand, it was planned into creation because He knew you would need to be reconciled to Him.
During these days of Valentines, when love statements come on pieces of candy, and paper hearts and newspaper declarations....take just a moment and breathe in the fact that God loves you with an everlasting love...you! Just as you are....a love so deep and faithful that He gave you everything and eternity before you even knew you needed it.
Will you say, "I love you too" to God's declaration of love?
When we understanding Who loves us, we can share that love with others.
A very Blessed and Happy Valentines to You and those you love!
